One of the world’s leading manufacturers of black masterbatch pellets and thermoplastic materials, contacted Molyslip with both production and sourcing issues. Their manufacturing process involved components being heated to +400°C and rapidly cooled to +20°C repeatedly. As a result of the repeated exposure to extreme temperature fluctuation, the anti-seize compounds used would inevitably bake leading to seized fasteners and in extreme cases broken components and tooling.
Molyslip Engineer Sam Barron attended site to survey the application, and assess the specific needs of the company’s manufacturing processes. After the visit, Barron identified Molyslip anti-seize compound FERROSLIP as a likely solution. FERROSLIP is an extreme high-temperature anti-seize with a capability up to +1400°C. The company agreed a trial of FERROSLIP, as they were having issues sourcing nickel-based products that they had previously used with success. After prolonged use, the customer reported notable operational improvements with zero downtime, as caused by the previous seizing issues.
After prolonged use, the customer reported notable operational improvements with zero downtime, as caused by the previous seizing issues. In addition, due to Molyslip FERROSLIP being calcium and nickel free Health and Safety concerns regarding toxicity were removed.
