Description

Glasstek EGX is a high-performance dispersion of high-purity graphite in a two-part epoxy resin system. It’s engineered to enhance lubrication and reduce heat transfer between semi-molten glass gobs and delivery components such as deflectors, troughs, and, on older systems, scoops used in high-volume glass forming machinery.

Le Glasstek EGX  delivers reliable, long-lasting lubrication that maintains consistent gob velocity and precise delivery. Its tough, dry graphite coating removes the smoke, fumes, and carbon deposits typically produced by conventional wet delivery lubricants.

Caractéristiques

Simple and easy brush application.
Ambient temperature curing.
Low friction coating provides consistent and accurate delivery speed.
High temperature resin provides long service life.
Facilitates patch coating during operation.

Application

Good surface preparation is essential to ensure long operational life. Surfaces should be free from dust, dirt and oily residues.
Any previously applied coatings should be completely and thoroughly removed. The surface should then be cleaned with a residue free solvent (ideal degreasing regime is to utilise Molyslip Slipclean DL followed by a second clean with Molyslip Slipclean RD).
Once equipment to be coated has been cleaned ensure it is at normal ambient temperature – do not pre-heat as this will adversely affect coating thickness and cure times.
Mix Parts A and B until a smooth, uniform consistency is obtained. Apply immediately by brush to achieve the desired coating thickness – do not over apply as excess product may flow and pool at the bottom of troughs. Allow a cure time of a minimum of 8 hours and ideally 24 hours prior to use.
