Description

Molychain DF-600 is a fully synthetic lubricant specifically designed to lubricate chain systems subjected to extremely high operating temperatures. It is formulated from a non-carbonising base
fluid and high purity solid lubricants to ensure effective lubrication beyond the temperature range of conventional oils.

At temperatures up to 180°C Molychain DF-600 functions as a fluid lubricant, at temperatures higher than this the base oil volatilises – without forming problematic carbon residue – and a film of graphite is deposited which protects chain components from wear. The dry graphite film is suitable for use at continuous operating temperatures up to 450°C and intermittently up to 600°C.

Application

Molychain DF-600 should be used as supplied – agitation is recommended if the product has been stored for long periods. Lubrication systems should ideally be drained and flushed prior to introduction of DF-600. For optimal results chains and tracks should be cleaned during change-over. Metachain DF-600 should ideally be applied to the chain at a temperature below 180°C to enable adequate penetration. During the initial increase to final operating temperature fuming may be observed as the base oil becomes volatile – this is normal and will cease once the oil has evaporated. Refer to the product safety data sheet for guidance on safe handling, storage and disposal.

Molychain DF-600 should be stored in original, unopened packaging, out of direct sunlight at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C. The most up to date shelf-life information for Molyslip products can be found on the certificate of analysis issued at the time of manufacture.
