Description

Steelgard X60 is our OCTG corrosion prevention solution for the oil and gas industry. A high-performance bitumen-based preparation coating for the external surface protection of oil field tubular goods requiring long-term outdoor storage.

Upon evaporation of the carrier solvent, Steelgard X60 dries to a flexible and tenacious black film that protects the pipe from the external environment.

X60 has been specially designed and engineered for the oil and gas industry offering corrosion protection for tubes, pipping and other essential components within the manufacturing and drilling process of oil and gas.

Application

Steelgard X60 is supplied ready for use and can be applied by brush, roller or spray applied by either airless or air-assisted systems. Surfaces to be treated should first be cleaned to remove dirt, debris, pre-existing surface rust etc. If aqueous cleaners have been used it is advised that these are thoroughly dried prior to application. Adequate surface preparation is vital to achieve the optimum coating life and protection. Refer to the product safety data sheet for guidance on safe handling, storage and disposal.

Steelgard X60 should be stored in original, unopened packaging, out of direct sunlight at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C.
