Description

Steelgard X62 is a specially formulated, high performance moisture displacing corrosion preventative designed to provide long term protection to the internal surface of OCTG Drill Pipe, Production Tubing and Casing – for up to 2 years.

As supplied Steelgard X62 demonstrates pseudoplastic flow behaviour enabling effective spray application whilst reducing pooling and dripping. Special dewatering additives effectively remove moisture from surfaces ensuring consistent film formation.

On evaporation of the low odour hydrocarbon solvent Steelgard X62 forms a firm, durable, wax-like coating that provides excellent corrosion protection.

Application

Steelgard X62 is supplied ready for use and can be applied by brush, drip, roller or spray applied by either airless or air-assisted systems.

Surfaces to be treated should first be cleaned to remove dirt, debris, pre-existing surface rust etc. If aqueous cleaners have been used it is advised that these are dried.

ARVINA FM2 is an excellent gearbox grease. Purchased to refill the gearbox on a kitchen mixer, which requires food safe grease. I coated the planetary track and gear. The result was the mixer sounded quieter. I recommend this grease for similar applications.
