Description

Glasstek MPC Fluid is a resin-bonded, graphite-based lubricant engineered specifically for use in the glass container manufacturing industry. Its combination of high-purity graphite and a temperature-resistant resin binder delivers an optimal balance of coating adhesion, lubrication, and release performance.

Glasstek MPC is suitable for application to both blank and finish moulds as required. Thanks to its excellent release characteristics, blank moulds coated with Glasstek MPC can be started dry, eliminating the need for initial swabbing. In addition, swabbing intervals can be significantly extended, reducing maintenance effort and improving production efficiency.

Application

Stirr well before use. Ensure mould surfaces are free from dust, debris and previous coatings. Before application of Glasstek MPC clean the surface with a suitable solvent cleaner such as Molyslip Slipclean RD

Apply by brush or spray from a distance of 15 to 30cm. Apply a thin even coating. Once the film is dry a second coat can be applied (note: 2 thin films are preferable to one heavy application).

Prior to entering service the Glasstek MPC film should be cured at a minimum temperature of 230°C for 30 minutes. Higher temperature will reduce the curing time.
